AP Specialist / Financial accountant

As an AP Specialist / Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for the full accounts payable administration and support various General Ledger accounting activities. You will report to the Finance Manager Netherlands and work closely with the local finance team as well as international colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Process purchase invoices — review, process, and post

• Execute supplier payments — ensure accurate and timely payments

• Manage vendor accounts — reconcile and maintain supplier ledgers

• Reconcile intercompany transactions

• Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing activities

• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations

• Prepare monthly financial reports

• Contribute to process improvements, standardization, and automation

• Support audits and internal control activities

• Ensure compliance with internal procedures, SOX requirements, and policies

• Act as backup for the GL Accountant

• Handle ad‑hoc accounting tasks and resolve financial queries

• Completed MBO+ or Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Finance, Accounting, or Business Economics

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in Accounts Payable and/or Financial Accounting

• Solid understanding of accounting principles

• Experience with Exact, Rillion, and MS Office (especially Excel) is preferred

• Accurate, independent, responsible, and well‑organized

• Strong communication skills in Dutch and English

• Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

• Interest in process improvement and automation

• Strong drive for continuous learning and development
